Semester at Sea Summer Voyage

Dear USD Student,

Thank you for applying to Semester at Sea for the summer voyage.  The International Studies Abroad Office would like to inform you that the University of San Diego is no longer affiliated with the SUMMER VOYAGES through Semester at Sea.  You may still participate in a summer voyage, however, you will not receive USD grades.  The classes will transfer back to USD as credit/no credit (this is not the same as Pass/Fail, please see the Undergraduate Bulletin for information on the Pass/Fail option).

Below is a description of the Credit/No Credit option that applies to the summer voyage:

  • Credit/No Credit: You will receive credit toward graduation and these courses can count toward majors, minors and CORE with departmental approval.  This approval can be obtained on the Transfer Evaluation for Unaffiliated, Non-USD Summer International Programs.

As the International Studies Abroad Office no longer handles the course equivalency procedure for Semester at Sea's SUMMER voyage, you will have to fill out additional paperwork to get these courses transferred.  To do so, please follow instructions below:

  1. Obtain course syllabus and fill out the "Transfer Evaluation for Unaffiliated Summer Programs"
  2. Attach course syllabus to Transfer Evaluation and submit to department chair for review.
  3. Return form to International Center where it will be recorded and submitted directly to the Registrar.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.

Sincerely,
The International Studies Abroad Office
