APPLICATION FEE
Upon submission of an application, the student agrees to pay a NON-REFUNDABLE USD study abroad application fee.  This will be billed via USD Student Accounts and should be paid directly to USD.  

* Please note that USD students are NOT required to pay JCU's application fee, only USD's application fee. 
DOUBLE DEGREE STUDENT ONLY ADDITIONAL FEES:
Students participating in the Double Degree program abroad may be required to pay additional supplemental fees. Additional fees are paid directly to the partner abroad.

TUITION
Because this study abroad program is partnered with USD, students will pay USD tuition in order to potentially receive financial aid benefits (please check with USD's Office of Financial Aid).
Tuition (12-18 units) is paid directly to USD. Students will be billed via USD Student Accounts. Tuition payment is due in full by the published semester/term due date. Review the deadlines online: Tuition Refund Schedule.
ESTIMATED HOUSING & PROGRAM SUPPORT FEES (billed directly by partner abroad)

INTERNATIONAL INSURANCE
All students participating in a USD-affiliated study abroad program are covered by USD's comprehensive blanket international insurance through AXA. Coverage includes medical care and assistance as well as security assistance. For more information on USD's international insurance policy, please visit the Health and Safety page. 
ADDITIONAL ESTIMATED EXPENSES
The following budget items are for student planning purposes only, as they are estimates of additional expenses.  Actual costs could vary greatly depending on the individual student.
  • Additional meals (Students may select a meal plan through JCU if desired. Payments will be made directly to JCU. Students may visit Dining Services for more information.)
  • Additional course fees
  • Local transportation
  • Personal expenses
  • Personal travel (dependent on student's travel preferences)
  • Roundtrip airfare
  • Textbooks
  • Government / Student Visa Fees

Travel insurance (strongly recommended): This will cover the cost of your flight in the event of an emergency (needing to cancel at the last minute or return home earlier than expected). The price will vary based on the overall cost of your airline ticket. Contact your travel agent or Ken Darrow at Universal Travel (858-456-7887) to learn more about this coverage and approximate costs.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Students are subject to USD’s Semester Program Cancellation Policy found on the International Center Policies page.
