Note: USD students studying abroad in the 2024-2025 school year (fall or spring semester) through a CEA CAPA program will receive a $1200 discount on their housing/program fee bill (not to their USD account).


APPLICATION FEE

Upon submission of an application, the student agrees to pay a NON-REFUNDABLE application fee. This will be billed via USD Student Accounts and should be paid directly to USD. This amount is charged regardless of any application fees paid directly to a host university or program provider.
TUITION 
Because this study abroad program is partnered with USD, students will pay USD tuition in order to potentially receive financial aid benefits (please check with USD's Office of Financial Aid). 

Tuition (12-18 units) is paid directly to USD. Students will be billed via USD Student Accounts. Tuition payment is due in full by the published semester/term due date. Review the deadlines online: Tuition Refund Schedule.
INTERNATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE
All students participating in a USD-affiliated study abroad program are covered by USD's comprehensive blanket international insurance through AXA. Coverage includes medical care and assistance as well as security assistance. For more information on USD's international insurance policy, please visit the Health and Safety page

Estimated Housing & Program Support Fees (billed directly by partner abroad)
Housing costs vary and are paid directly to CEA. For more information, please visit CEA's website. 

ADDITIONAL ESTIMATED EXPENSES
The following items are examples of additional student expenses.  These additional expenses could vary greatly depending on the individual student's spending habits, restaurant choices, personal shopping, additional weekend travel plans, etc.

  • Roundtrip airfare   
  • Personal Travel  
  • Airport Entrance and Visa Fees 

Travel insurance (strongly recommended): This will cover the cost of your flight in the event of an emergency (needing to cancel at the last minute or return home earlier than expected). The price will vary based on the overall cost of your airline ticket. Contact your travel agent or Ken Darrow at Universal Travel (858-456-7887) to learn more about this coverage and approximate costs.
