APPLICATION FEE
Upon submission of an application, the student agrees to pay a NON-REFUNDABLE USD study abroad application fee. This will be billed via USD Student Accounts and should be paid directly to USD. This amount is charged regardless of any application fees paid directly to a host university or program provider.
TUITION
Because this study abroad program is partnered with USD, students will pay USD tuition in order to potentially receive financial aid benefits (please check with USD's Office of Financial Aid).
Tuition (12-18 units) is paid directly to USD. Students will be billed via USD Student Accounts. Tuition payment is due in full 10 days prior to the program start date.
ESTIMATED HOUSING & PROGRAM SUPPORT FEES ( billed directly by partner abroad)
Students are housed in residence halls and pay University of Glasgow directly for housing fees. Applications for housing are now made online. Once accepted to the program, students will be emailed a reference number and instructions on making the application for accommodation online. Further guidance can be seen on the Residential Services website. To guarantee a place in university accommodation, students should apply as soon as possible after receiving their acceptance. Students will pay the partner university directly for housing and other program support fees.
INTERNATIONAL INSURANCE
All students participating in a USD-affiliated study abroad program are covered by USD's international insurance policy through AXA. Coverage includes medical care and assistance as well as security assistance. For more information on USD's international insurance policy, please visit the Health & Safety page.
ADDITIONAL ESTIMATED EXPENSES
The following items are only estimates of additional expenses. These additional expenses could vary greatly depending on the individual student's spending habits, restaurant choices, personal shopping and additional travel plans:
Travel insurance (strongly recommended): This will cover the cost of your flight in the event of an emergency (needing to cancel at the last minute or return home earlier than expected). The price will vary based on the overall cost of your airline ticket. Contact your travel agent or Ken Darrow at Universal Travel (858-456-7887) to learn more about this coverage and approximate costs.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Information on the USD Semester Program Cancellation Policy can be found on the International Center Policies page. Students will also be subject to the partner institution’s cancellation policy.
