Study abroad program: Culture Experiences Abroad (CEA) in Rome, Italy Spring 2012
International Experience: I so proud and exuberant to say that I made a home and life for myself in the four months I was abroad in Rome, Italy! I visited 10 countries during my time abroad in Italy including England, France, Hungary, Austria, Greece, Turkey, Spain, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
Why I wanted to be a peer advisor in the Study Abroad Office: I wanted to be a part of the Peer Advisor program because my past spring semester in Rome was a very significant, enriching, and memorable chapter of my life. I feel that going abroad has elevated my USD experience ten times more and has given a whole new outlook on life. I have matured and grown mentally in my time abroad. I am also more knowledgeable and aware of the world around me. That being said, I am truly sad that this exciting chapter of my life has passed, but I would like to help others experience what I did because that keeps this spirit alive. I would only like to make my contribution and give back to a community that has so graciously helped me in such an amazing opportunity abroad.
advice for students planning to study abroad: Just live up every moment, see all that you can see,
experience all you can because it will pass fast. Be open to new perspectives,
cultures, and ways of life! The more you embrace it, the more it will benefit
your growth as a person and your enjoyment in that new culture. Discover yourself, your passions, and your
interests. Don't be afraid to try something new and challenge yourself!
HAVE FUN J Do everything you can!
