Major: Communications Minor: Sociology

Study Abroad Program: Florence University of the Arts, Florence, Italy Spring 2012
International Experience: Going to Florence was the best decision I have ever made. Studying abroad allowed me to do what I love to do most, travel. I visited Amsterdam, Greece, Israel, French Riviera, Italy, London, Spain, and Prague.
Why I wanted to be a peer advisor in the study abroad Office: That is an easy question. Studying abroad was the best experience of my life, and I encourage everyone to have this life changing experience. This experience will forever change you, and I want to help students who were skeptical like I was at the beginning of my journey. I wanted to support and encourage everyone. I want everyone to have the same experience I did, and if that means taking it into my own hands, so be it. I would never change my experience for anything in the world.
Best Advice for students planning to study abroad: Go with an open mind.
You are going to be in a completely different country with a
different culture, but take it all in, because not everyone gets to
have this kind of experience.
Try to do things you would never do at home, meet locals, walk
around, get to know the city, do not stay in your apartment, you will
regret it. Don't worry about anything back home, disconnect yourself
and enjoy every moment you have. Oh, and eat EVERYTHING!
